The School Closures Advisory Committee held a meeting to discuss potential school closures within the district. Public comments provided by parents, staff, and students emphasized the potential negative impacts of closing various elementary schools, including concerns regarding enrollment data, socio-economic disadvantages, the future of dual-language immersion programs, and the equitable allocation of district resources. Presenters highlighted specific school data, such as capacity, enrollment trends, and facility conditions, arguing that closures should be reconsidered based on these metrics.
