The hearing addressed code compliance matters within the town. One case involving an address on Intracoastal Drive was administratively postponed until the following month. A second case concerning interior renovations at a property on South Ocean Boulevard was reviewed; the property was found to be in violation of building permit requirements. The magistrate established a deadline for bringing the property into compliance, with specific fines and prosecution costs outlined should the owner fail to meet that deadline.
The board reviewed a proposed resolution concerning the procedures for initiating and adopting town ordinances, providing consensus on the presented process flowchart. Discussions also included the status of previous requests regarding dog waste stations and promotional brochures for upcoming town events. Members addressed concerns about solicitation policies and booth visibility for the upcoming Mingle Jingle event, as well as the feasibility of future regulations on gas-powered leaf blowers in light of recent state legislation.
