This Statewide Risk Assessment for the State of Illinois provides a comprehensive, evidence-based foundation for strategic decision-making regarding Community Risk Reduction (CRR). It analyzes risk patterns at the state level to identify cross-jurisdictional patterns, regional concentrations of risk, and demographic disparities in fire injury and fatality rates. The assessment is intended to inform the prioritization of state and local resources, technical assistance for CRR initiatives, and prevention strategies, with the ultimate goal of reducing fire-related death, injury, and property loss across Illinois's diverse communities.
